All online UBI courses are available to enroll and complete in Workday.  See specific instructions below.

UBI Reports

If you do not currently have UBI access, please follow the instructions to request access in Workday. You'll need to complete BOTH an access request and training to get access to UBI initially.


Course Descriptions

Training is a priority for the UBI Team.  A library of topical resources in the Data and Analytics Community provides ongoing, just-in-time support to users. The UBI training offerings include:

Intro to UBI

Course Description:
This course focuses on the navigation and basic functionality of UBI.

Course Objectives:

  1.  Explain why the University implemented UBI.
  2.  Navigate within UBI.
  3. Use the basic tool functionality.
  4. Run UBI reports to view data.
  5. Create, use, and share bookmarks within UBI.
  6. Find available support resources.

Format:
This course is offered in an online format.  Online training is currently available for Finance and SIS.
NOTE: As of 7/1/22, the Finance version of this course is no longer required for the EDW_P_Finance role. 

New requests for EDW_P_Finance should complete the Intro to Qlik Sense online training course.  The Finance version is only recommended if users want to review navigation and functionality of the UBI Reporting (QlikView) Finance modules. Most of these modules are now used for historical data purposes only (prior to 7/1/22).

Audience:
New UBI Reporting users.

NOTE: Current UBI Finance users are not required to take the SIS version of the course to receive access to the SIS modules (and vice versa); however, the appropriate SIS responsibility must be requested. 

Prerequisites:
None

Intro to Qlik Sense

As of 7/1/22, this course is required for the EDW_P_Finance role.  It is also recommended for anyone who will access the UBI Analytics (Qlik Sense) modules. In some cases, this course may be completed in lieu of Intro to UBI - SIS to satisfy the training requirement when the user is only seeking access to modules on the UBI Analytics platform.

Course Description:
This course covers the basic functionality and navigation of Qlik Sense in the context of UBI Analytics reports and dashboards.

Course Objectives:

  1. Describe Qlik Sense and its role in UBI reporting.
  2. Compare and contrast Qlik Sense and QlikView.
  3. Navigate within the Qlik Sense environment.
  4. Use basic Qlik Sense functions.
  5. Find available support resources.

Format:
This course is currently offered in an online format.
All 3 lessons must be completed for the training to register as complete.

Audience:
Any user requiring access to UBI Analytics (Qlik Sense).

Prerequisites:
None

UBI Workshops

In-person, structured training for users after they have completed Intro to UBI, and have spent time using the reporting environment. Workshops focus on "refresher" training or specific UBI modules and reports.

Course Description:
UBI Workshops offer in-person support to users. Workshops generally include a review of navigation and functionality (UBI Refresher) or an overview of specific modules and time for Q&A.

Course Objectives:
1. Forum for asking questions about the tool, reports and business cases.
2. Increase comfort level and ability using the tool.
3. Identify where to find additional support resources.

Format:
Instructor-led

Audience:
Current UBI users

Prerequisites:

  1. Complete Intro to UBI or Intro to Qlik Sense
  2. Have spent some time in UBI, using it to complete work
UBI Reporting - Using MySheet (formerly Advanced UBI)

Course Objectives:

  1. Describe the difference between a Bookmark and the MySheet tab.
  2. Create a customized MySheet object from copying an existing object.
  3. Create a basic MySheet object from a new sheet object.
  4. Access additional resources via the UBI Community.

Format:
Instructor-led, 3 hours duration.

Audience:
Any UBI users, but preferably those that has spent some time using UBI. Users should have a solid understanding of using the core functionality of UBI and be able to execute basic reports.

Prerequisites:
Complete Intro to UBI

Current Offerings

Please click the links below to enroll in a corresponding class through the Learning Management System (LMS) in Workday.  The classes are open to all existing users regardless of location.

Intro to UBI - Finance (Online Only)

This course has not yet been updated for Workday Financials.  In the meantime, new Finance users should take the Intro to Qlik Sense course instead.

  • Complete the Intro to Qlik Sense online course through the Learning application in Workday.
  • Click to enroll through Workday.
  • Click Enroll.
  • Complete all three lessons in the course.
Intro to UBI - SIS (Online Only)
  • Complete the Intro to UBI – SIS online course through the Learning application in Workday.
  • Click to enroll through Workday.
  • Click Enroll.
